This article will discuss the Low Risk and Express Event Types
Introduction:
In addition to the standard event types (Same Day, Multi-Date & Overnight) there are two non-standard event types available to schools. These both need to be enabled by the school, and are not available by default.
This guide will expand on each event type, and how this can be turned on.
Low Risk Events:
Low Risk Events skip both the Proposal and Planning phases of the event process, and go straight to the active view. Meaning there is no approval process. This acts as a sort of invite generator, as it will only require the organiser to set up their communication to parents, the parameters of the invitation and choose the students invited. Low Risk Events are commonly used when the event is held often, on school grounds with no planning required in Consent2go.
For example, a notification of Parent Teacher Interviews, which need a yes or no confirmation that the parent will be attending.
The ability to add Low Risk Events is not included in the default Event & Excursion user role. This must be manually added by enabling the below parameters for either a specific user or user role:
Once staff have this access granted, they will be given the ability to choose Low Risk in the event type selector.
Express Events / Approval:
Unlike Low Risk Events, Express Events still have a proposal phase. If an event is approved to go through as express, it will skip the planning phase and go straight to the active view. It can be used similarly to the Low Risk Event, but adds a single layer of approval.
When creating an approval stream an option is available for an approver to be marked as “Express”:
If this option is ticked, organisers will be given the option to send their event proposal via Express Approval.
If choosing this option, they will be asked to provide a note to approvers to explain why they are requesting express approval.
This note then displays for approvers, who can choose to grant the event as express:
If this Approve Express option is used, the planning phase of the event will be removed. Once the proposal approval is complete, the event goes straight to the active view.
The green Approve button can use instead, which will send the event through the normal process. No information is removed from the proposal if this option is used.
How to tell if an event is Low Risk or Express?
As both event types do not have a planning phase, the “View Planning” button will not be in the top right of the active view:
Express Events will only have the Proposal Tab, when viewing in the event list:
