This article will provides information regarding why the Region field appears blank when adding activities, and how to resolve this.
Introduction
Regions are used for Overnight Events to indicate the locations in which students will be visiting on a camp. These directly impact accommodation or activity details, as you may have different locations for these during your trip.
This tile is greyed out for Same-Day or Recurring Events, as it is not relevant.
In the Planning stage of an event, when trying to enter Activities, if the Region dropdown box keeps appearing (with no choice available) this indicates that there is a problem with the Region.
Overnight Events
If you are planning an overnight event go to the Region tile and check that the entire date range of your event is covered by a region.
In our example below, the date range for the event is the 1st of Jan 2026 until the 10th of Jan 2026. However, the Region's end date is the 9th of Jan 2026:
Because of this, trying to add an activity on the 10th of Jan will cause an empty Region box to appear, because there is not a dated region to select.
To resolve this, enter the Region tile and select edit next to the region with the missing date. Alternatively, select "Add Region" and choose the relevant location you will be in at this time.
Once actioned, re-add the activity - the region option should no longer display.
