This article will provide you with an overview of how you can cancel an event

*Please note, if the below 'Delete' and 'Cancel' buttons do not show for you, you do not have permission within your role to delete/cancel events. Please see your admin team for assistance with this.*

Things to Note:

This guide will walk you through the steps on cancelling or deleting an event within Consent2Go. There are a few things to note before you begin this process:

  • The difference between deleting & cancelling - Events are cancelled if the invitations have already been sent out, events are deleted if the event is not yet active, invitations haven't been sent, or the planning phase has not been completed.
  • Deleting an event will remove it from the system completely.
  • Cancelling an event will not remove it from the system, instead it will appear on the events list with the date greyed out, and crossed through.
  • If a student has been marked as attending, and the event is cancelled, an email notification will be automatically issued to the parent or guardian.
  • Cancelled events remain in the calendar incase it needs to be reinstated or rescheduled.

Deleting an Event (Not Active - No invites sent, planning incomplete):

  4. A pop-up box will appear to confirm that you would like to delete the proposal, select 'Confirm' to continue:

Cancelling an Event (Active - Invites sent):

To cancel an event, follow the steps below:

  2. Find the event you wish to cancel, and click on the tile. This will open the event to the '5. Attendance' page
  3. From here, select the 4. Summary' Page:
  4. Scroll to the bottom of this page, and click 'Cancel Excursion':

  5. A pop-up box will display, with space for you to input a message to the parents/guardians who have already responded to the event invitations. Input the text in the box, then click 'Confirm'
  6. The event will still appear in the Event List, with the date and time greyed & crossed out. This is so the event information remains in the system for possible future use:
