Parents Guide to Profile Updates

Alternatively, read the guide below

Profile updates allow you to provide your child's most up to date information directly to their school. Through profile updates, you can do the following:

  • Add/Update your personal information
  • Add/Update emergency contact information
  • Outline any medical conditions your child may have
  • Respond to questions relating to consent for your child

Once you complete the initial profile update, you can also download our Consent2Go Parent App, which allows you to manage your child's information anytime & anywhere.

 Stages of a Profile Update

There are 5 stages included in a profile update. See below for an outline of each stage:

  1. Parent Information
Through this stage, you can confirm your personal information. Such as name, phone number, email & address. You can also add Emergency Contact details for your child.
  2. Care Details
This stage allows you to answer a variety of questions relating to your child. Such as, their Medicare details, medical contact details (e.g. Family GP), dietary requirements and answer additional questions outlined by your school.
  3. Medical Conditions
You can outline information relating to any medical condition your child may have, and included vital information such as medication information, healthcare plans, and condition history. This stage is vital in ensuring your school holds the most accurate information relating to your child's health requirements.
  4. Permissions
If your school requires you to provide permissions for your child, this is where you can do so. For example, photo or medication permissions.
  5. Review & Submit
The final stage allows you to agree to a statement, outlining you have provided the most accurate information. It also provides you with an overview of the updates you have made in case any changes need to be made.

Upon completing the profile update, you will receive email confirmation. Attached to this email is a PDF outlining all the information you have provided to the school.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Please see below for a list of our FAQ's.

Why can't I see the other parent/guardians details?

When viewing stage 1 of the profile update, you will always view your personal information first. When you can only see your details, this means that your child’s other parent/guardian has not elected to share their information with you.

If the other parent/guardian does not consent to sharing their details with you, you will see a statement that says “[Other parent/guardian name]’s details have not been shared.”.

Personal details are not shared between parents unless consent has been given via the Can [other parent/guardian name] review and edit my details?”  question in the profile update.

How do I access Consent2Go?

The school will issue you a profile update invitation link via the email they have on record for you. When you click this link, it will take you to the webpage that allows you to begin the process. Parent's cannot view the Consent2Go platform in the same way as schools, however you can utilise the Parent App to view and manage your child's information.

Can I update my details without a profile update invitation?

If the school has your correct email on record, you can access your child's profile update via a link that is specific to your school. The format for the link is as so:

www.mcbschools.com/[*inputschoolnamehere*]/studentupdate

If the school name is correct, it will show with the name and logo along with a box to enter your email. If you do not receive an email, please contact us or your school for further assistance.

Why am I stuck on a stage?

To complete the profile update, certain fields or pieces of information require a response.

If one of these fields has been left blank or incorrectly completed, you will be presented with an error that reads: “Submission Incomplete. Please ensure you have completed all required fields before proceeding to the next page. Thank you.”

When the error appears, you will be directed to the incomplete field which will also be highlighted by a surrounding red line.

Enter information as required and then scroll to the bottom of the page to click Next.

How do I delete my child's medical condition?

Navigate to the third stage of the profile update, click 'Remove' at the furthest right of the condition title.

Do I have to upload documents for my child's medical condition?

Some schools require documentation to be uploaded for certain medical conditions before the condition can be saved. Some common medical conditions to have a mandatory document upload are anaphylaxis, asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, etc.. The document required is often an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) or any kind of medical response plan.

In these cases, it is not possible to save the medical condition without uploading the relevant documentation. If you would like to save the medical condition for your child and notify the school of the information, but do not have a document to upload, please contact the school directly to enquire about the best course of action.

Why does the web page say my invitation link is invalid?

If you click on a link that you received via email, and you are presented with a message that reads: “The invitation link is now invalid”, this means that the link has already been used to respond to the invitation. Each link is unique and for a single-use only. In other rare cases, an invalid link could indicate that the event/invitation has been cancelled.

If you would like more information or require a new link to be sent to you, please contact the school directly.

We hope this guide helped with your enquiry.
