Alternatively, read the guide below:

The Communication Log assists schools by showing all the successful and unsuccessful outgoing messages. This log can be used to identify invalid emails or monitor if staff or parents are not properly receiving communications. By frequently maintaining this log, schools can ensure parents and staff are correctly receiving any notifications needed. This allows staff to contact parents and update emails if necessary.

There are 2 versions of the Communication Log within Consent2Go that this guide will cover:

  1. General Communication Log
  2. Event Communication Log

Note: Consent2Go has many functions that utilise outgoing contacts to both staff and parents. This is usually via email, but some schools may have SMS options enabled. If you'd like to learn more about the SMS functions within Consent2Go, please contact our friendly support staff for assistance.

General Communication Log

The general Communication Log shows a system wide overview and can be found by clicking the drop down arrow beside ‘Administration’ and then ‘Communication Log’.

This log will show all outgoing contacts made via Consent2Go. If a communication has failed, a red envelope will appear besides the contact’s name.

To view the unsuccessful email, click the green arrow which will display the:

- Contact & Sender Details

- A copy of the email

- The error code associated with issue preventing the email from being sent

This log can be filtered by Campus, Type and Date Range. Staff can also use the search bar to investigate individual emails, key words, or email subjects.

Communication Dashboard

Clicking on the Communication Dashboard will allow you to see a communication summary along with a list of all failed emails within the last 30 days .

Event Communication Log

The event Communication Log is exclusively for event invitations and communications sent to parents. This can be found by entering into an active event, and then selecting the megaphone icon.

From here, you can view all the invites and messages sent to parents about a particular event. This is a useful way to ensure all parents are receiving the necessary information relating to their child’s events. The failed emails can also be viewed in this section, in the same way as the general log.

The Attendance tab of an active event also shows a timestamp for each student when a parent opens an email. By hovering over the students tile, you can view which parent has opened or responded to it, and when.

*PLEASE NOTE: the above sample is of a test student, and does not contain real student information*

NOTE: The communication logs help to make parent and staff communication consistent and accurate. It also acts as a receipt, so schools have a reference as to when updates are sent, or invites are issued to parents.

We hope this guide helped with your enquiry.
