This article will discuss the Alternate Parent feature

Introduction

Consent2Go allows you to add a third contact, referred to as an “Alternate Parent” to a student's record. While this contact does not have the ability to edit the student’s information, they will receive notifications about event invitations. This article will illustrate the steps for adding alternate parents and outline the visibility these contacts have.

How to Add an Alternate Contact

This feature needs to be enabled by the Consent2Go support staff. A request to have this enabled can be sent to this team via emailing: support@consent2go.com

Once enabled, follow the steps below to add these contacts:

  1. From the Students tab, locate the relevant student and select "Actions" > "Edit" to open their profile.

  2. Go to the Additional Details tab, and scroll to the "Alternate Parent Details" subsection.

  3. Fill in the information as required, with a minimum of First & Last Name and Email.
  4. Click save at the bottom of the page.

What does this contact see?

Whenever an invitation is sent for the student, the Alternate Parent will receive a copy. This does not have any ability to provide response or edit details, and acts as a notification only.

Please Note

  • Alternate Parents cannot see any information held within the student's profile, they only see their name and the event information.
  • Alternate Parents cannot respond to event invitations, only see the details.
  • Any reminders or custom messages sent within the event will not go to the Alternate Parent.
  • There can only be one Alternate Parent per student.
  • This information must be manually maintained.
